Our county operated behavioral health clinics provide behavioral health services for children, youth, young adults, and families who are experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral health difficulties. Our approach to services is individualized, trauma-informed, and culturally and family inclusive to promote wellness, strengths, and connectedness. Services include but are not limited to assessment, therapy, case management, and psychiatric care for children, youth, and young adults. Services are provided in various languages with bi-cultural and bilingual staff.

Alexian Youth Substance Use Treatment Services Clinic

The Alexian Clinic provides confidential services to youth and young adults ages 12 to 21. Therapists specialize in working with youth, young adults, and families struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. Services include individual counseling, group counseling, case management services, and linkage to services such as medical care, legal resources, transportation, job training, and housing resources. Psychiatric services are available for youth with co-occurring disorders of substance use and mental health.
Services at the Cross-Systems Behavioral Health Clinic and the Guadalupe Behavioral Health Clinic can be accessed by internal referrals only.

The Cross-Systems Behavioral Health Clinic supports youth ages 12-24 are at-risk or impacted by sexual exploitation to help them recover from stress, depression, and emotional, physical, and sexual trauma. The team works in collaboration with youth advocates and public health nurses. Services include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, medication support, and connection to other supports as needed. Referrals come from our partners, the Department of Family and Children Services and the Probation Department.

The Juvenile Justice Clinics support youth housed at Juvenile Hall or James Ranch. The team includes a team of social workers, marriage family therapists, psychiatrists, rehabilitation counselors, and psychosocial occupational therapists. provides screening, assessment, treatment, care coordination, and crisis intervention. There is a focus on relational treatment of trauma, adversity, utilizing healing modalities. Additional supports include life-skill groups, group therapy, and daily check-ins.

allcove is an integrated youth mental health center designed with, by, and for youth and young adults that reduces stigma, embraces mental wellness, increases community connection, and provides access to culturally responsive services. allcove Palo Alto serves young people 12 to 25 with mild to moderate needs, providing unique spaces for them to access services, with resources and support for friends, family, and the larger community. Services are free or low-cost and include mental health, physical health, supported education and employment, substance use, peer and family support, and community activities.

The Downtown Youth Wellness Center (DYWC) serves youth and young adults, ages 12-25, in a safe, supportive, and youth-focused environment that fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment. The design reflects current research that drop-in youth centers can be instrumental in supporting youth in navigating and accessing services across systems while also providing a space for activities, learning, socializing, and a place to just “be”. The center has a flexible and open approach to decrease barriers to access and reduce stigma and aims to keep in mind the community’s cultural and linguistic needs of the youth that attend the center. Services and supports include:
• Peer support, social and enrichment activities such as music, art, and self-expression.
• Same-day access to behavioral health services and support which supports our system of care and immediate access to mental health and substance use.
• Workshops, care coordination and linkage to other supports.
• Additional resources available to the youth include, a laundry room with a clothing closet, and hygiene supplies for youth and young parents, all done in an effort to provide needed resources to youth with compassion and dignity.
