Outpatient Support Services

The Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department offers a wide range of behavioral health services to ensure that our residents of Santa Clara County have access to help when they need it. The Behavioral Health Services Department contracts with various community-based organizations that provide outpatient support for adults, older adults, adolescents, children, and families.               A special education and mental health service for students with complex needs, and their families. Programs include intensive day treatment, both in a self-contained campus and on public school sites; outpatient mental health services; therapeutic extended-day and respite services; early intervention services, at both home and school, including a therapeutic pre-school program; and residential services.​​

              The Children's Health Council (CHC) has served the developmental needs of children and families in the community for nearly 50 years. Founded in 1953 by Dr. Esther Clark, Palo Alto's first pediatrician. This nonprofit organization provides the highest quality mental health, special education, and development services for children and adolescents. CHC programs serve children with severe behavioral and developmental difficulties, as well as families facing common everyday challenges.​​​

              Fair Oaks Behavioral Health is unique in providing outpatient services to children, adolescents and their families, as well as to seriously mentally ill adults and young adults. The Family and Children's Division services offered at Fair Oaks may include: individual, group, collateral, family therapy and medication evaluation and support. AB 3632 referrals from school districts are the primary responsibility of this team serving North Santa Clara County. Services at Fair Oaks also include one Adult Service Team for seriously mentally ill adults which provides a full array of behavioral health services: case management, crisis intervention, and medication support to assist consumers to achieve stability and as high a level of functioning as possible. Family and community supports are developed whenever possible. Culturally appropriate services are available as well as services in the Spanish language.​​

              A multi-faceted agency serving children and their families. Chamberlain's Mental Health Services offers an array of culturally sensitive services including day treatment, outpatient/medication services, school-based support mental health services, family strengthening and community outreach services, and victim witness treatment for families. All services can be provided in Spanish and English.​​

              Provides a full continuum of mental health services for emotionally troubled children, adolescents, and families from varying cultures and socio-economic groups. Eastfield Ming Quong's treatment philosophy is based on a family systems approach, treating the entire family - not just the troubled child. The program strives to reunite and maintain natural family structure. Services include outpatient counseling, in-home treatment, residential treatment, short-term intensive day treatment, school-based day treatment crisis intervention, wrap-around services and chemical dependency programs.
