Peer internship program
The Peer Internship Program provides an opportunity to our consumers and family members to receive valuable work experience and training in a supportive environment. This opportunity provides placement into a variety of programs within the Behavioral Health Services Department, along with core training curriculum to develop skills and receive supervision to maximize a successful entry/re-entry into the workforce.
The Peer Internship Program provides training to develop both the knowledge and skill base of the intern in a variety of areas that include:
- peer support
- group facilitation
- program development
- clerical/computer skills
- community outreach
- information and referral
Internship positions will be announced throughout the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department, and County contract agencies, as well as our website.
